Meeting on October 9th

Did you enjoy September?  Good.

Now get back to work. We have our first meeting to plan for Camp Moon Hwa 2018 on October 9th at 6:00 PM at Madonna Towers.

If you’d like to see what a meeting looks like, come join us. Especially welcome are people who want to help out with planning, but don’t want to commit before getting a better understanding of the workings.

1 More Registration Form and Champagne

The long-awaited medical form has arrived: Camp Moon-hwa Health Form
It’s needed so we know what medical needs your camper has.
Registration deadline: May 1, 2017

Also, at last night’s meeting, Champagne was poured. Okay, it was sparkling apple juice. But the important thing is we have are tax status reinstated and we can once again accept donations. Calley did a lot a work on that and we’re very grateful she got everything straightened out. Thus the Champagne-like beverage.

Meeting Notice:

We are adding meetings on May 8th and 22nd and on June 5th. (The May 15th meeting is cancelled.) Most things seem to be falling into place for Camp, but we just want to be sure. Also, if you’re a person who really should be at all meetings, you really should be at the June 5th meeting where we make sure all loose ends are tied. But all are welcome at all the meetings.

 

Meeting on March 20th at Madonna Towers

Here’s a reminder that there’s a Camp Moon Hwa meeting on March 20th at 6 p.m. at Madonna Towers.

Julie created a spreadsheet that includes the financial information for the past few years to aid in creating a budget.  Thank you, Julie, for making this!  We’ll be discussion it.

We only have 3 meetings scheduled between now and camp, so the meetings may get kinda crazy. (Not sure if that’s a warning or a selling point.)

Notes from Jan. 23rd meeting; Next meeting Feb. 13

Approximately 15 people attended the January 23rd meeting for Camp Moon Hwa. Remember, you’re welcome to attend the monthly meetings as well!

It was decided that meetings would be the 3rd Monday of the month starting in March.

Our next meeting is February 13th.

We will shortly have a list of a dozen or so volunteer opportunities. Keep watching so you can be the first to volunteer for the awesome-est jobs!

Two notes for this year’s overnight:

  • It may not be Tuesday night. Right now, we’re looking at Wednesday night, but there are scheduling issues we’re working out
  • NO baggies for medication, please. Campers must have proper containers for any medication they need.

Organizational Meeting on January 23rd

Greetings!!
…  We have been in the process of revamping how camp is organized and transitioning into a committee based format for the planning of camp.  This is to allow for more people to be involved as well to spread some of the responsibility so the work load is lessened for everyone.  We took some time this fall to decide what committees we thought we needed.  Since this is a work in progress, these can be adjusted as needed. We have initiated the forming of the committees, and have multiple areas of need for assistance.  Some of these will be working primarily in the months outside of camp, and some will have responsibilities during camp.
We are having a meeting on January 23rd at 6 p.m. at Madonna Towers and would love to have you attend if you’re able.  We are using this time to check in with the current committees that have already begun working to answer any questions and address any areas/challenges that may have come up.  We’re also using this time to address areas where we need additional assistance and to offer information on what these areas are.  That way, you can decide if these are of interest to you and if you can offer assistance in any way.  We understand that not everyone is going to be able to attend.  For the committees that have begun working, please let me know if you have areas of concern, questions, need additional help, etc. before Monday and I can bring it up at the meeting.  For those of you who do not currently have an assigned task, let me know if you are still interested in helping and I can send out an email of needed areas after the meeting is over.  Also, please pass this information on to anyone else you think may be interested in attending or having more information on ways they can help at camp.
All upcoming meetings will be posted on the website and Facebook page and open to whoever would like to attend.
