Rochester Honkers Add Player of Korean Descent: Erik Cha

Move over Byung-Ho Park. Rochester baseball fans have a new Korean(-American) player to root for: Erik Cha of the Rochester Honkers!

Of course, our favorite baseball players are still the bunch from Camp Moon Hwa playing youth baseball. But Erik and Byung-Ho are good, too.

In case you’re wondering, the Honkers have home games Monday-Thursday of Camp Moon Hwa week this year.

Welcome to Rochester Erik and all of his Rochester Honker teammates.

Six weeks away from Camp Moon Hwa

We are only six weeks away from Camp Moon Hwa 2016!

Sure, that’s plenty of time for you. But, rest assured, the board of directors and the teachers are already working to make sure this is another great year of camp.

And there are still opportunities for volunteer for this year’s camp. For instance, last I heard, we still needed someone to run the camp store.  I’m not saying your opportunity to buy treats is at risk, but it sure would be nice if someone would be willing to open up the store and sell the goodies.

See you all in six (6 (!)) weeks!

International Korean Adoptee Memorial

According to this tweet, an organziation called Me & Korea is proposing an International Korean Adoptee Memorial in Korea for adoptees to further a connection with South Korea. I’m not seeing much about it on their web site, but I thought some might be interested.

Also, if there is something you’d like to see included in the museum, they welcome submissions–which must be sent by May 31st. (No, I won’t pester you as much about that deadline as I did about the Camp Moon Hwa registration deadline.)
