16th Annual Lunar New Year Seollal Celebration!

Celebrate the Lunar New Year with fun family activities, Korean Bibimbap (Rice, vegetable & meat/tofu dish) and a FREE Jang-mi Korean Dance & Drum performance & variety show.

Schedule of Activities:

10:30 Children’s activities, Korean Market, Bake Sale
11:00 – 12:30 Fundraiser Lunch ($15 donation)
[11:00 Giant bibimbap mixing ceremony!]
1:00 – 2:30 FREE Jang-mi Korean Dance & Drum Performance & Variety Show

Tickets will be at the front table in the cafeteria the day of the event. Walk-ins are welcome! Lunch tickets are limited to 200, reservations are encouraged.

All proceeds support the KHH & Jang-mi Korean Dance & Drum.

National Adoption Day Celebration event on November 19th

Korean Heritage House & Jang-mi Korean Dance & Drum are having a National Adoption Day Celebration to raise awareness of the more than 100,000 children waiting in foster care.

Saturday, November 19 at 3-5PM
Central Middle School White Bear Lake
Auditorium
4857 Bloom Avenue
White Bear Lake, MN 55110

Performance: 3:00-4:30 PM
Korean Market: 2:00-5:00 PM

The performance will include the following:

Samulnori (Percussion & Dance ensemble)
Piri, Taepyeonso & Daegeum (Flutes)
Gayageum (12 string zither)
Pansori (Singing)

Including artists from Gwanggaeto Samulnori Korean Percussion Ensemble (that name should trigger some nice memories).

Conversation with author Kim Park Nelson on September 25

On Sunday, September 25th, there will be a conversation with author Kim Park Nelson–author of Invisible Asians: Korean American Adoptees, Asian American Experiences, and Racial Exceptionalism.

Where: Schmidt Artist Lofts. 900 7th St W, Saint Paul, Minnesota. Brew House Community Room
When: Sunday from 2:00-3:30 PM
Who: the audience is teens and adults
