Samantha Rother from the Rotary Club contacted us about a great opportunity. Please see the recruitment flier at the end of this post if you are interested.
I saw your recent article about Camp Moon-Hwa in the Post Bulletin and it sounds like an incredible program and that we might share some similar goals. Our Rotary Club hosts an international exchange student each year and this year we will be welcoming a 16 year old girl, Chae-won from South Korea. I’m currently seeking host families for her and am wondering if you may be willing to share the opportunity with your network? Hosting through our program is only a three month commitment as Chae-won will stay with three different families during her time here to get a wide range of experiences. In return, she would be able her family the opportunity to get to know here and share her South Korean heritage. Rotary supports all of our families along the way, offers financial support to the student to minimize financial expectations of the family and sends our students to Lourdes High School so they can ride the school bus from anywhere within the Rochester School District. I’m also seeking host families for another student, Lara from Spain. I’ve attached additional information on the program. Do you know any families who may be interested in this opportunity or would you be willing to share with your network? I’d be happy to talk more with a family in person. Our program also offers students the opportunity to travel the world on exchange, this year one of our students will be going to South Korea. If you ever know a student who may be interested, please don’t hesitate to refer them to our website.
